Mad Max: Fury Road

If you enjoy a good summer blockbuster and you would like to do this from the comfort of your home, I have a great choice for you today.

If you enjoy the cars that hunt the desert in a post-apocalyptic Wasteland, full of outrageous characters, huge explosions and some of the best action sequences ever shot, you never look more than Mad Max: Fury Road, the Epic Master of Action on George Miller.

It’s hard to believe, but the movie is actually ten years old now. I still remember seeing it for the first time in theaters a decade ago and being completely inflated. I’ve seen it several times since then, and this feeling of pure awe never leaves. Even beyond the action filled with adrenaline, heart, there is something so incredible about this film and how it was filmed.

For beginners, director George Miller and artists, such as Brendan McCarthy, came with 3,500 historian panels before any work was done in the script itself. Miller, who had only written a brief outline at this point, wanted to portray the film and effectively created an extensive graphic novel in the process. The final cut of the movie reflects these storyboards almost exactly.

The concept and history of the boat began in the late 1990s, but 9/11 happened and plans for movie films in Africa were canceled. Production moved to Australia, but the floods left the landscape too lush for a movie Mad Max and so well over a decade after all of them began to return to Namibia in 2012. Charlize Theron was hit as an Imperator Furiosa.

The story follows Max as it helps Furiosa get away from the dirty warrior Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his war boys, including Nux (Nicholas Hoult). Furiosa released Immortan Joe’s slaves, but the warlord will not let them go easily. What follows is one of the most intense, shiny film cars that they ever put in the film.

Created over 200 outrageous cars for Wrath and are kept for years of storage until the filming begins. It is really one of the craziest cinematic works of all time, and while I am absolutely recommended to watch it on a Blu-ray 4K disc (or see the black and white ‘Black and Chrome’ version, which is the preferred version of Miller), it will still seem to sound great on Netflix. Miller wanted to release a silent version of the film, but that never happened.

Netflix is also going to lose Furiosa: a crazy epic that serves as a prediction Fury Road. Certainly watch them in the order they were released, however, as prequel features are better when you have already seen the original. While I suggest you watch the first three Mad max Movies as well, you certainly don’t have to watch Fury Road, which is essentially a franchise reboot more than a correct sequel. I thought Furious He was excellent with great performances by the stars Anya Taylor-Joy as young Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth as the rather crushed warrior, Dementus-though he is not yet on the same level as Fury Road.

Also make sure to watch Ryan Coogler’s Sinnerwhich just became available in the flow last week.

Update 07/10/25

If you are done with it and looking for some other good action movies to enjoy on Netflix, here are some more suggestions. All this is very different from the Fury Road and each other, so there must be something for everyone.

Train in Busan

One of the biggest zombie films ever made, Train to Busan is a South Korean movie it looks like The Walking Dead Look Fowly Pedestrian. A big cast of characters makes this even more unforgettable – and tragic. The film follows a daddy worker trying to take his daughter in her mother’s position. Unfortunately, a zombie epidemic takes place on the way and things quickly out of control. It’s excellent but keep the tissues close.

Read more about the movie here.

Export 1 & 2

Chris Hemsworth plays a black market mercenary tasked with rescuing AA Crime Lord’s child in the first film. The second continues the story of Tyler Rake as he gets another dangerous mission. These are just extremely fun, very capable action movies and Hemsworth is amazing in both. Administered, these are not the “best” of the kind in the same way Wrath and Train in Busan It’s, but sometimes you just want something a little lighter.

The city

Ben Affleck’s second crack in directing (following the excellent Left baby) The city follows a group of Boston Bank bandits as they take on dangerous bandits and face their demons. Affleck leads to it as Doug Macray, a man who clearly wants out of life, but is the performance of Jeremy Renner stealing the show. This is a really great bank robbers movie.

Midnight

I had to include an older movie in this directory and Charles Grodin and Robert De Niro’s Midnight Place the account. The story follows Ex-Cop and generosity hunter Jack Walsh (De Niro), as he tries to bring an accountant of a mob known as the Duke (Grodin) to LA, while seeking opponents and the FBI. It is very funny, extremely good and simply all pleasant, in a little place thanks to the chemistry between its drivers.

Dungeons & Dragons: Price between thieves

Not only my favorite 2023 movie, one of my favorite films of the last decade. I really liked Dungeons & Dragons: Honor between thieves so much I think I saw it three times in the theater and then bought the 4K Blu-ray. It is really one of the greatest fantasy films of all time. I put it there with the Lord of the Rings and Willow and I am sure it is destined to be a great worship classic, even if we do not continue. You don’t have to like D&D to enjoy this movie. The whole cast is perfect, the jokes are hilarious, the plot is well made and manages to balance the emotional journey along with the fun piles. Read my review here.
