Apple iPhone 17 Air to have bad design update, says new leakage

Updated on May 3 with more iPhone 17 air design details and more focus on the USB-C port.

When the iphones of this autumn are revealed, there is one that creates a lot of buzz. This model, the nickname of the iPhone 17 Air, will be super-minute, just 5.5 mm thick. But a new dummy appeared that shows a strange redesign of the USB-C port. Here’s because it’s so weird and comes at a time when interest in the new phone is growing.

Previous rumors of the 17 air have promised, such as the best performance than expected, tips on the new colors and the way its subtlety compared to the rest of the area could be remarkable.

The latest dummies exposed by leaks, such as the one released in a video from Apple TrackIt is extremely detailed. The video compares the 17 -air dummy with the current iPhone 16 Pro and the difference in thickness is impressive – and the difference will be even more intense if the rumors of the iPhone 17 Pro max design prove to be true.

But the cost of this 5.5mm design could come with the cost of symmetry at the base of the phone. This is because, as he pointed out Macro“Achieving this level of subtlety is unlikely to come without compromise, virtual models … suggest that Apple has made some subtle adjustments to accommodate internal components in the stricter context.

The dummy seems to show that the reception is closer to the back of the device from the front, which “is likely to accommodate screen accessories in the housing”, the report claims.

Look carefully into the USB-C port and the central element around which the hollow USB-C connector folds when you connect it, it seems to be a bit out of the center, also sitting lower than the waist.

For many, this will look a little away, at least. But let’s put it in perspective. There is a limit to how thin a screen can be, and it still fits into touch potential and so on. Thus, it seems likely that the USB-C slot could not be closer to the screen, so the only way to achieve maximum subtlety is to move it out of the center. Add that it is a part of the phone you are literally looking at if you connect a cable and it seems likely that this will be no problem, after all.

In terms of symmetry, it is also worth noting that the Dummed Dummy shows two penses on each side of the USB-C port. This is symmetrical, at least, unlike the iPhone 17 Pro max, for example, which has six holes on one side and four on the other.

Two holes suggest that the speaker may not be as strong as in other iPhones, but we should see. Note that the iPhone 17 air is expected to get rid of the SIM card disc, which would be the first iPhone sold outside the US only designed for ESIM.

The interest in the phone is high, with 9TO5MAC Air prediction could go up to sales charts thanks to its delicate profile, for a start. Then there is a 6.6 -inch “just right” screen size that could make the iPhone easier to use by hand than the pro Max iPhones, especially the latest 6.9 -inch screen. Finally, he points out that the new design feels like the future, interesting customers just like the iPhone X did in 2017.
