Riot Games announced it brave is now officially out on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S after the initial beta ended.
brave It originally hit consoles a few weeks ago, but in beta form where you needed an invite code to gain access. The codes weren’t particularly limited, but some players had a hard time getting in, which will make this announcement especially welcome.
Now brave has been fully released on consoles, meaning you no longer need a code to enter and can simply download and play the game from your console’s store. However, brave it is currently only available in the United States and Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil. Other regions may roll out in the future, but there’s currently no word on when that might happen.
“We received so much valuable feedback from players during the Limited Beta, and we feel confident that we will deliver on our promise of gameplay for console players,” said Arnar Gylfason, Production Director of brave at Riot Games. “Whether it’s the perfect shot, a flawless team play, or taking out the enemy team, we can’t wait to see console gamers experience the same gaming thrill as brave Players PC.”
Based on the beta so far, reception to brave on console it was great. Riot Games seems to have found a way to give players the precise aim control required, but with a controller, and has kept the rest of the gameplay that has proven so popular on PC the same. This was the main concern of players when the console version was announced, but somehow Riot managed to pull it off impressively well.
“One of my favorite new features for consoles is focus while shooting,” said Gylfason. “To provide the same experience as on PC, where Hip-Fire is the primary shooting mode and ADS is a secondary, supporting mode, we experimented with multiple gamepad adjustments and sensitivities. But on console, hip-fire shooting was never the same, and the player didn’t have the same range of possibilities and level of gameplay expression as on PC. And that’s where Focus comes in. Focus is a new shooting mode that essentially behaves like Hip-Fire, but with reduced sensitivity. This way, players can use Hip-Fire whenever they need speed in their camera/target movement (looking around corners, dodge utility), but use the focus mode whenever they need precision (getting those nice headshots ). This also brings the shooting mechanic closer to what console gamers are used to in shooters, all without losing the added value of Valorant ADS provides.”
