UFC veteran announces retirement 2 days before her 30th birthday

Cheyanne Vlismas first put the family.

She took on Instagram to announce her retirement from mixed martial arts, despite the obvious talent and stellar power to make a mark on the Strawweight or Flyweight sections at UFC.

VLISMAS were manufactured Her announcement on Instagrammentioning the need to spend time with her young children. The now 30 -year -old, also known as Warrior Princess, made the announcement two days before a milestone.

From today I am officially retired.

This decision comes with a lot of heart. But this is something I have to do. Since I have my second child, my time is very limited. I am not able to give 100% to my education without giving myself less than myself to my babies.

This decision comes as I choose to be the parent I wish I had always grown.

The more hard this decision is – because I like to fight so much with all my heart – my kids will always be found first. I know I’m young and I could come back, but my decision went down: I could leave my children for two months for a training camp? I just can’t do it.

Thank you all my coaches @Dennisdavismma @sugarraysefo @richiequan @eric_xcmma @xcmma, teammates throughout the years who were always there for me. Most importantly, my family and thank you to @Mickmaynard2 and UFC. This was a dream. I didn’t manage to fulfill all my dreams, but I did it at the highest level and now I will choose to give all my mother and finally, thank you to all my fans. 🙏🏼

I hope one day my kids know that their mother gave them all to be the best I can be for them, because this is not an easy goodbye to me. 🙏🏼*

While VLISMAS never became a domestic name, it made an unforgettable sign on UFC during the pandemic. The UFC was one of the only major sports organizations that never closed in 2020 and VLISMAS had its highlights in MMA from 2020-21.

In August 2020, Vlismas won a contract with the UFC after scoring a unanimous victory of the decision over Hilarie Rose in the Dana White series. This victory led to its advertising debut with UFC in March 2021 against Montserrat Conejo Ruiz.

While VLISMAS took the loss of this match, it bounced back with successive victories in the next two appearances in Octagon, collecting performance bonuses in both matches.

In July 2021, Vlismas won a show of the night bonus when he defeated Gloria de Paula via Ko. The sequence was created with a head kick and a follow -up punch that caught the attention of the fans of the match and the brass UFC.

The finish came after a sequence. De Paula was initially at the bottom and Vlismas got up. De Paula followed, but she is not protected as she climbed her feet and Vlismas made her pay for a vicious kick. Vlismas took the finish as he followed with ground and pound until the referee called an end to the match.

In her next match, Vlismas won a unanimous victory for the Mallory Martin decision in December 2021. While Vlismas did not end, she and Martin won the Fight of the Night Honors and the bonus going with him.

With tones of momentum professionally and on the heels of back-to-back bonuses, Vlismas hit a long period of inactivity. He is supposed to fight Tabatha Ricci in October 2022, but retired.

Vlismas did not fight again until December 2022. He received Cory McKenna and fell through a unanimous decision. As it turned out, McKenna’s loss was Vlismas’ last race as a professional.

With two young children to take care of, Vlismas is moving away at a time and time that could be able to be a factor in the female part of the female female. Division is seemingly ready for a change, as Weili Zhang seems ready to jump on Flyweight soon.

Could VLISMAS become candidates? Perhaps, and on the basis of the overall weakness of the department, it seems reasonable that it could fight its way into an official ranking.
