Las Vegas, NV – May 24: Dana White talks to the press after the event for Power Slap 2 – … more
The UFC roster recycling is still in full force.
More recently, promotion has separated ways with several Featherweight fighters in front of a large pay-per-view card, including a perspective that has never found its base in the octagon.
Connor Matthews, a once -warm -up talent from Massachusetts who entered the UFC with high hopes and durability after a failed attempt in the Dana White candidate series, was released after a trio of tough expenses.
His removal from the roster came the same day as the releases of Kron Gracie and Hakeem Dawodu from the roster – everything was once Featherweight.
Connor Matthews’ UFC attitude ends with 0-3 registration

Matthews’ UFC trip was a short and one indifferent.
Matthews’ first attempt to participate in the UFC directory was a failure as it was defeated by Francis Marshall in 2022. Matthews returned to Indy and scored a first round victory to win another shot in UFC.
In his second shot at DWCS, Matthews won a contract with a unanimous victory over Jair Farias in 2023.
Matthews entered a 7-1 record promotion and a reputation for completing the games, but failed to win a victory as a member of the UFC main roster. What is worse, all three of his losses came in the first round – two with knockout and one with submission.
Matthew’s final appearance, a tap loss on Yadier del Valle on May 17, sealed his fate with the organization.
Despite the style -friendly style and durability, Matthews has become another example of how hard the UFC Featherweight section can be to newcomers.
Kron Gracie and Hakeem Dawod also let go

As I mentioned, Matthews was not the only name cut by the roster. Gracie, the UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie’s nephew, was also released after a sad stretch that saw him lose three consecutive battles.
Known for his genealogy, Gracie never evolved beyond the roots of Jiu-jitsu and was hit by Bryce Mitchell in his latest period.

Dawodu, meanwhile, had a longer journey with promotion, but could not overcome a hard final chapter. After losing weight at a 2022 loss to Julian Erosa and removing a scheduled race in 2023, he returned to reduce the decision on Cub Swanson last August.
This marked its third loss in four appearances, and finally, the UFC is running out this week.
