P.Trump He has played his plans to boost US energy production, although his priority so far is to do so with fossil fuels instead of renewable energy. And his efforts to eliminate federal subsidies for pure power created by law to reduce inflation and other policies established during Biden’s administration have quickly have an impact on the industry.
Since January, investments totaling $ 7.9 billion for 16 large -scale factories and other projects have been canceled, closed or reduced in the first quarter of 2025, according to one Study by e2A non -profit interest group that promotes policies that are environmental and economically beneficial. The study states the increase in market uncertainty and the potential that Congress will abolish tax credits and other incentives that have reinforced renewable energy.
Cleaning these investment plans will eliminate 7,800 new clean energy tasks that would have been added, according to the analysis. The rate of cancellations increased in February and March, ending in projects, including a $ 200 million hydrogen plant, Bosch was planning to open in South Carolina and a $ 2.5 billion Freyr battery factory.
The industry is not only seeing cancellations, although more than $ 1.6 billion has been invested in new solar, EV and network and transmission factories, E2 said.
“Clean -energy companies still want to invest in America, but the uncertainty about Trump’s administration policies and the future of critical cleaning tax credit is getting a clear tax,” said E2 spokesman Michael Timberlake. “If this self -injured and unnecessary uncertainty of the market continues, we will see almost more stamas projects, more situations have stopped and more employment opportunities are disappearing.”

California’s long love affair with Tesla ends as EV Brand Sales Tank

California, Tesla’s largest US market since it began delivering electric vehicles in 2008, has leaned the brand in the first quarter, with sales falling 15% amid fierce competition and protests in the company’s stores throughout the CEO Elon Musk.
The Austin -based company, which is a leading beneficiary of environmental awareness of environmental consumers and regulations of the environmental state, which sold 42,322 vehicles there this year until March, from 49,875 in the same period last year, according to the data released on Wednesday. The decline in volume reduced its market share to 49.3% in the period, from 55.5% a year ago. It was also the first time under 50% of total EV sales in the state.
Tesla’s fall in California, as well as total US sales in the quarter, fell into a wider growth trend for battery cars. Total EV sales in the state increased by 7.3% to 96,416, according to the report. The big winners included GM, which saw 62% jump for Chevrolet-Brand EVS, Hyundai and Honda, whose new preface was the third best seller behind Model Y and 3. Last week, Cox Automotive said Tesla sales were reduced by 8.6% to 8.6%. increased by 11.4% in the quarter. At the global level, the company declined 13% in the first three months of the year.

Gene Berdichevsky, Founder and Managing Director of Sila, to make EV batteries more powerful and effective with upward pryer
Sila will soon start production of silicon in your new factory in Lake Moses in Washington. How does the next year look like for the business?
We are starting to activate the tools. We finish the large phases of construction, but this is a first of a kind of plant in the world. No one takes advantage of a plant like this anywhere else. To assign it, you must do it very systematically and you need to make sure you do it safely.
We will begin to delegate to this quarter and the next quarter we will start producing some materials in the factory. In the third trimester we will begin to invite all recipes and with production as soon as we safely highlight all the tools. Then, in the third trimester we will hit what I would say specialized production -quality, consistency, performance, all. These materials, once available, will go to car customers. They will go to electronics battery customers. There will also be drone applications and possibly some electronic bike applications. We have several customers waiting to get a specialized product from this factory on the back of this year.
Within 12 to 18 months of this we will be in vehicles you can buy. We will probably be on consumer electronics devices that you can buy with materials from this factory earlier – sometime next year – but vehicles late next year and extend to 2027.
What is the advantage of silicon uphill cells over graphite ascent cells?
At hardware level, silicon ups are about five to seven times better. We can replace a hundred pounds of graphite in the car with 20 kg of silicon. What translates because this is one of the basic components of a battery, on a battery is about 25% increase in energy density over the latest technology [graphite] today. This means much longer run time or much smaller battery pack for the same execution time. This is today. We see that the push of up to 30% or 40% in the coming years, as we continue to promote higher efficiency products in the sector.
Will invoices cause problems for basic materials in your supply chain?
It is almost entirely domestic, so we don’t have much exposure. We have a few things that come from abroad, but nothing from China, so it is a very moderate impact. For us, it is more a matter of our exports. We export to various Asian countries, including China, so monitoring of retaliation invoices is definitely in our minds.

China was successful with LFP batteries for EVS, which is heavier than traditional lithium -ion batteries but cheaper. Is this long -term winner?
I think LFP has much less meaning in the US than in China, especially if we are looking for domestic supply chains.
Our point is the highest performance will be the best way to drive better EVS. I think that higher efficiency materials, such as silicon ascents combined with recycled nickel downhill, will actually lead to one of the lowest cost structures, as you will produce half of the size of battery compared to an LFP package. And if you use a battery package of half of the size then, as you compress all the costs, it will be cheaper than a double size. The vehicles will be lighter and will be more effective. But you must have very high quality cavity made with recycled nickel where you do not extract the primary nickel, which is quite expensive, and you need a much greater silicon energy production. We will do it absolutely.
