Analytical analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot here.

Spade took things out of a very good start with just 43 remaining words. We chose all the new letters with Broil, but that didn’t appear new boxes. With six words left, I guessed Daunt who threw this number down in one: Datum for win! Difficult word. . . .

According to our narrow June competition, Wordle Bot and I have tied today, each to get zero points for a June agreement:

Erik: 2 points

Wordle bot: 2 points

How to play competitive wordle

  • The guess in 1 is worth 3 points. The guess in 2 is worth 2 points. The guess at 3 is worth 1 point. The guess in 4 is worth 0 points. The guess in 5 is -1 degrees. The guess in 6 is -2 degrees and missing Wordle is -3 degrees.
  • If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you connect, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it to get your score. Keep a daily score or just play for a new score every day.
  • Fridays are 2xp, which means you double your points – positive or negative.
  • You can keep a run or just play everyday. Enjoy!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word datum comes directly from the Latin Datum, which means “something given” (is the neutral of Datus, the previous involvement of Dare, “to give”). In medieval and neo-Latin, the Datum was used in academic writings to refer to information or a condition. English borrowed it in the 17th to the 18th century in the sense of “an information element”, later established in scientific and technical contexts as unique data.
