ForbesToday’s NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers for Saturday October 26thWith Eric Cain

The last lazy Sunday of October is here and we only have a few days until Halloween and beyond Dia de los Muertos on November 1 and 2. There are many holidays and celebrations coming up. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year. Time flies. Let’s solve today’s Mini Crossword?

NYT Mini is a smaller, faster, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT crossword, and unlike its bigger sibling, it’s free to play without a New York Times subscription. You can play it on the web or in the app, though you’ll need the app to deal with the file.

A good tactic with crosswords is to try to get as many ACROSSes as possible first, then you’ll find that many of the BELOW ones have already been done — or vice versa if the ACROSS ones are harder.

Obviously, spoilers. Go ahead for today’s solved puzzle image.

OPPOSITE

1 — What can protect a person from saliva — BIB

4 — Miles, minutes and milliliters — UNITS

7 — In 1922, Warren G. Harding became the first US president to be broadcast over — RADIO

8 — Four wins in four, e.g. — SWEEP

9 — To be liable, as a bar — TEND

BELOW

1 — “I hate to ___ your bubble, but . . . .” — EXCLUSION

2 — Completely surprised — INAWE

3 — #46 — BIDEN

5 — Like a two-by-two row — TIED

6 — Soak (above) — SOP

This wasn’t bad, although I did get thrown off a few times when I used the wrong word. I tried MOP at first for 6-down, but it was SOP. Others like RADIO and BIB were very easy out of the gates. Same with BURST. Overall, a much easier crossword puzzle than yesterday’s.

How did you do? Please let me know Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

If you also play Wordle, I write guides for that too. You can find these and all my TV guides, reviews and more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
