Blatantly violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was supposed to allow unhindered shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s radical leaders have done the US and the Free World a huge favor.

Last April, President Trump prematurely halted all-out airstrikes by the US and Israel against Iran’s tyrannical regime that has for nearly half a century sponsored global terrorism. Iran and its proxies have killed 2,000 Americans and millions more. He openly vowed death to the US and Israel. The acquisition of nuclear weapons was seen as a means of realizing this horrific ambition. The Iran deals were never worth the paper they were written on.

However, the President and some of his officials thought they could make a deal with these vipers. Indeed, the President gave the impression that he wanted a face-saving way to wash his hands of the war with Iran. Why else would it cancel the attacks when we hadn’t finished hitting the list of intended targets?

Despite the massive blowback from the US and Israel, the mullahs—and most of the world—concluded that Iran had won a strategic victory. The regime had not only survived, but had gained de facto control of the critical Strait of Hormuz.

Fortunately, Iran overplayed its hand. Along with its proxies, Iran has flagrantly violated the ceasefire since it began in April. He turned the Memorandum into a farce by attacking shipping and firing on American forces and allies. Any attempt at American diplomacy is seen by Tehran as a sign of weakness.

The President stated that the US will be the guardian of the Straits of Hormuz. The US Navy has the capability to perform this mission. An encouraging sign of America’s military capabilities is our first — and highly successful — use of drone ships against Iranian naval assets.

If the President stays the course and doesn’t suddenly change direction, the Iranian regime will eventually buckle. The fall of this evil force would be a huge victory for the Free World.

Ideally, the US would also reassure nervous allies about its credibility and stability by increasing aid to defend Ukraine against Russian missiles and by President Trump’s approval of the $14 billion arms package to Taiwan that Congress passed earlier this year.
