Samsung’s YouTube channel has come to life as he confirms the next Galaxy Unpacked event. The highly anticipated event will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA at 10am. Pacific on January 17. And we have a hint of the South Korean company’s focus.
Curiously, the focus of the teaser is not on the widely anticipated Galaxy S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra smartphones, although Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S series will be part of the event. Instead, the focus is on Galaxy AI. Samsung previously announced Samsung Gauss, an AI platform with three core modules. “Gauss Language for understanding human language and generating natural responses, Gauss Code helps software development for code descriptions and creating test cases, and Gauss Image allows images to be created and modified.”
Without a doubt, Gauss will be one of the tools to help deliver on the promise that “Galaxy AI is coming.”
Galaxy S headphones are a key part of the proposition, with the press release noting that “[Samsung will] discover the latest premium Galaxy innovations, delivering a brand new AI-powered mobile experience. “
The new devices will be powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 2400 chipset or a custom Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 based on the Galaxy S24 platform, depending on the region. The Samsung community will be looking to see if Exynos handsets can finally match the performance and efficiency of the Qualcomm-powered option. Both chipsets are tailored to optimize AI and ML routines that run exclusively on a device or run alongside cloud-based services.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is also expected to launch with a new S-Pen stylus and a titanium frame to increase durability while reducing the overall weight of the flagship.
