A career in sales comes with multiple benefits. You have the potential for rapid career progression, unlimited earnings depending on your work ethic and the number of client deals you’ve completed and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a client’s day and brought a new product or service into their life to make their lives easier.

While some aspects of a B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-consumer) sales role may change due to automation through artificial intelligence, the demand for skilled B2B salespeople in complex environments will continue to grow incrementally and cannot be replaced by Artificial Intelligence. especially because high value sales deals are closed through trust, relationship building and a solid relationship.

What are good qualities/skills to have as a salesperson?

There are some key qualities and skills you need to possess to ensure you remain competitive in the job market as a high-value B2B sales executive. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, charm, charisma and professionalism, as well as considerable drive and self-motivation. You need to be focused and motivated and maintain a steady and consistent resilience to bounce back from setbacks because you will face many nos before the client decides to say yes, some harder than others.

You also need to be passionate about understanding what makes your prospects tick, what their needs are and how to package the solution in a way that appeals to them and is persuasive and persuasive. Finally, it’s important to remember that the flexibility to travel within and sometimes outside of your region is key to many of these roles.

Now, here are five sales-based roles that pay significantly more than others that you might want to consider:

Vice President of Sales

Of course, you can’t really go much further than being the VP of sales for your company. In this leadership role, your primary responsibility is to oversee and ensure sales success in the business and formulate strategies that drive revenue growth, enabling the business to achieve maximum profit potential in new markets. You will set quarterly and annual sales goals and objectives in line with the development of a sales strategy and manage the overall sales budget.

What qualifications/requirements are needed?

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a business-related discipline is favorable
  • Significant extensive sales experience at various levels
  • Familiarity and solid understanding of the company, how it is positioned in the market and its core products and sales strategies
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Knowledge of CRM (company specific and other widely used CRMs such as Salesforce)

Average Salary Range:

$208,525 to $270,894

Enterprise Sales/Account Executive

Enterprise sales executives are another form of B2B solutions roles. they build a portfolio of clients through prospecting, promoting, negotiating and closing new accounts every day. In this role, you will be proactive in identifying customer needs and creating solutions that fit their organizations. You will focus on generating revenue through strategic customer partnerships while evaluating and improving sales processes to drive growth and profitability.

What qualifications/requirements are needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or marketing
  • Five years of experience as an account executive or in senior sales and customer service roles
  • Ability to communicate, understand and anticipate the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Industry specific expertise
  • Knowledge of CRM

$168,000 to $303,000

A realtor is a real estate agent – the only difference is that a realtor is a member of the National Association of Realtors. As a broker, you could choose to specialize in specific markets and increase your profits based on specialized knowledge, such as residential, including luxury homes, commercial real estate, and industrial real estate. On a day-to-day basis, you will be actively involved in advertising, conducting property tours and closing deals with potential tenants/buyers and your client (the owner or seller).

What qualifications/requirements are needed?

  • Complete the pre-licensing course
  • Application for a real estate license
  • Taking state exams
  • Become an active member of NAR (National Association of Realtors) for ongoing professional development and adhere to their standards and ethics in your practice

Average Salary Range:

$44,000 to $133,593, depending on your state and market

Medical Devices Sales Manager

In your role as a Medical Device Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling medical devices and products to a range of customers within healthcare Including hospitals, medical centers and practices. You’ll also be cool with prospective buyers, showcasing items like medical equipment and maintaining long-term contracts and relationships as a trusted supplier.

What qualifications/requirements are needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Major in business, biology or life sciences is a plus
  • Certifications such as Registered Medical Sales Representative (RMSR) from NAMSR (National Association of Medical Sales Representatives)
  • Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of CRM

Average Salary Range:

$90,245 to $130,362

Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

As a pharmaceutical sales representative, you will sell and promote prescription drugs and educate healthcare providers about their risks and benefits. Day to day would find you building strong relationships, traveling extensively and maintaining an extensive understanding of the healthcare industry to be able to effectively promote your products and meet your customers’ needs.

What qualifications/requirements are needed?

  • Degree specialization in science-related fields such as biology or chemistry is ideal. also consider a degree in business or marketing, although this is certainly not a strict requirement for the role
  • Strong marketing and sales acumen
  • Working knowledge of pharmacology
  • Healthcare network preferred to be successful
  • Knowledge of CRM

Average Salary Range:

$58,000 to $103,000
