In the next two weeks, both comets are projected to become brighter as both reach their closest to Earth around 20-23 October.

What did Zeus do to comet Lemmon

In April 2025, Comet Lemmon passed about 216 million miles (348 million km) from Jupiter. This may sound distant, but the huge weight of the gas giant was pulling to the comet, changing his orbit. According to Space.comZeus drains some of Lemmon’s orbital energy, reducing his period by nearly 200 years. Instead of returning every 1,350 years, he will now return to about 1,150 years. Zeus often acts as a “cosmic tower”, remodeling the orbits of passers -by – sometimes capturing them, sometimes completely launching from the solar system.
