Joe Pyfer’s match with Kelvin Gastelum is officially outside the UFC Mexico card.
Middleweight Matchup was paved for the main card at Arena CDMX in Mexico, but was canceled due to illness that affected Pyfer. Confirmed the information on his own Instagram story.

Pyfer had entered the race with some momentum, winning a KO win over Marc-André Barriault in June 2024. He hoped to start a victory, but the disease kept him out of action.

Postponement of the race could potentially be an important disorder for Gastelum as he is trying to start what elements is his final opportunity to take a route in a UFC championship.

Because Pyfer-Gastelum was set as a main card race, the UFC was forced to make an adjustment. In response, the promotion has increased the fight between José Daniel Medina and Ateba Gautier in the designated prelimination. Edgar Chairez vs. CJ Vergara was raised on the main card.
The event still has a powerful headliner: a Flyweight battle between Brandon Moreno and Steve Erceg. There are huge entries involved in the main event, as the loser could find himself away from the challenge for a 125 -pound title.
