Without US investors, there would be little technological progress of the high quality variety to speak. That is why it is both comical and sad when Witless US politicians are asking companies with Chinese origin to sell the “American” owners. Sorry but already American belongs.

Which helps explain the strong Chinese demand for US technology along with its know -how. China technology companies that are largely a US investment creation are of course willing to buy inflows from companies in the nation that is the flower beds of technological innovation.

This is useful to think with President Trump’s taxes on Nvidia and AMD chip sales in China top of the mind. Stating what is already obvious, it is wrong taking into account Trump’s long -awaited desire that the US is #1 in AI. Not only the best of the best Chinese technology companies want what NVIDIA, AMD and other US companies offer, the benefits extend beyond sales to a Chinese market that promises to develop exponentially in the coming decades.

More importance, taking into account Trump’s ambitions, there is simply no way for AI and AI based in the US and next to the achievement of the World Status #1 if the best and brightest of us cannot benefit from the work department with top Chinese companies.

It cannot be said enough that American businessmen capitalists are not in China, because its technologists have no potential, they are probably there because they do it. But if Trump’s paranoid exports to China (along with the senators, such as Elizabeth Warren and Jim Banks) prevail so that exports to China are limited, the most important US AI companies will lose sales in consultation with much reduced cooperation that is even more necessary for their progress.

This brings us to what Trump, Warren and Banks are so anxious: they believe that exports to China are threatening the superiority of American technology. They take it backwards.

This is because the minute of all kinds of advanced technology is released on the market, examined by everyone. Those looking for competitors, including competitors in China. Huang and Nvidia know it closely. According to Huang’s words, attitude means that Nvidia “will market out of business”. Stop and think about this while thinking about Trump’s export tax.

Taxing NVIDIA and AMD exports not only punishes the sales and progress that are inherent in cooperation. Equally harmful, Trump allows their worldwide technology exposure, while depriving them of additional funds that will allow it to improve. It is obsolete, as the business history makes it clear.

Nike Phil Knight co -founder wrote Shoe That every dollar that was not nailed found its way to investing in the future of Nike. Applied to Ford Motor Co., every profit dollar headed to improve the assembly line that allows cars to be made for the “large crowd”. With Amazon, Jeff Bezos loved Alexa’s initial success for his sales, allowing much more experimentation in all new products.

Which is a reminder that when taxing NVIDIA and AMD exports to China, Trump is doing more than flooding US efforts to be #1. It requires US companies of valuable funds necessary to stay #1.

Trump says the lack of tax revenue from tariffs and exports will make the US a “third world country”. More realistically, third world countries remain in this way by doing exactly as Trump does.
