In case you missed Wednesday’s NYT mini crossword, you can find the answers here:
Friday! At last! This is my last day of Mini Crossword guides for the next two weeks. I pass the torch to Kris Holt, then it goes to Paul Tassi, then back to me. I’ll be doing my daily Wordle guides though, and I’ll be back to Strands guides soon, so be sure to follow me on this blog for all the puzzle guides (and more!).
Ok, let’s solve this Mini!
Mini is a smaller, faster, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT crossword, and unlike its bigger sibling, it’s free to play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or in the app, though you’ll need the app to deal with the file.
While some of today’s words are quite simple, some may confuse you. You will find the answers below. Obviously, spoilers. Go ahead for today’s solved puzzle image.
OPPOSITE
1. Move like a kangaroo — HOP
4. Purple Soda Flavor — GRAPE
6. Bird used to send messages to the “dragon’s house” — CROW
7. Future Oak — ACORN
8. What measures of half-life, in nuclear physics — WEAR
BELOW
1. Pandemonium — DEBACLE
2. A show about a prima donna — OPERA
3. Get a ___ in a ___ — CENT
4. Mortar carrier — GRAD
5. A dash is short — RACE
All in all, a pretty doable Mini Crossword today. I had never heard the term “mortar carrier” so I let it fill in with other words. My expert knowledge of all things Game of Thrones did 6 In a breeze. The only other thing that took me a minute was 3 Down. Take a PENNY leave a PENNY. How old-fashioned!
How did you do in today’s Mini Crossword? Please let me know Twitter and Facebook.
If you also play Wordle, I write guides for that too. You can find these and all my TV guides, reviews and more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
