After definitive casualties in her last two games, she ranked veteran Bantamweight Julia Avila, named her a career on Saturday night at the Octagon.
Avila, 36, lost a one-sided unanimous decision (30-27×3) at Jacqueline Cavalcanti at UFC Vegas 102 Prelims. Cavalcanti overcame Avila in all three rounds and 73-54 in total. Coming to the race, Avila was ranked at 12 and Cavalcanti was No. 13.
After the race, UFC analyst Daniel Cormier interview with Avila. Observing that she had left her gloves in the center of the Octagon, she asked her if she was really retiring.
“Yes, this is,” Avila said, as her young daughter arrived at her mother to keep her. Avila thanked God for the opportunity to compete in the Octagon and felt peaceful with her decision to go away.

The two women are likely to change positions if Avila had not retired, but with the announcement, Cavalcanti will almost certainly carry up to No. 12, Avila will come out of the ranking and someone else will find a point in Wednesday rankings Wednesday.

Avila hoped to get a win after the loss through the first round submission in her last match against Legend Miesha Tate in December 2023.
Unfortunately, age and inaction seem to have an impact on Avila. By 2020, Avila has only struggled five times. While the women’s Bantamweight section is not the toughest weight class in UFC at present, it is almost impossible to stay abruptly with so few races.
When Avila broke the UFC in 2019, she began her career with back wins before suffering a unanimous loss of decision at Sijara Eubanks in September 2020. And Julija Stoliarenko was canceled or postponed, respectively.
Avila did not fight at all in 2022 and most of 2023 before it started what has been shown to be the last two matches of her professional career.
Avila, also known as “The Raging Panda”, walks away with a 9-4 record as Pro and 3-3 in UFC. As for Cavalcanti, he should be able to challenge someone on top 10.
It is 9-1 and leads to seven victory matches.
