There is no official release date for the next one yet Escape from Tarkov wipe, but we now know there will be a Twitch Drops campaign running as it goes live, as is usually the case with year-end wipes.
In a post on the official Escape from Tarkov on their social media accounts, the Battlestate Games team revealed that a new Summer Twitch Drops campaign is coming soon, which will almost certainly be released shortly after the new wipe.
The new Twitch Drops campaign will likely let you watch Twitch streamers play Tarkov and then offer in-game rewards based on watch time. Typically, these in-game rewards range from very low-value in-game items like toilet paper and random attachments, to things you wouldn’t normally unlock until much later in the sweep, like ammo cases or even bitcoins.
Previous campaigns have given out rewards for watching just one hour of someone playing Tarkov, but the bigger rewards often require you to watch more than five hours a day, so it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to claim them all.
There is no date as to when the campaign will start, but it will almost certainly be a day or two after the next wipe release. Since the wipe didn’t release today, then August 15th seems like the most likely release date, although we’re still waiting for the promised pre-wipe events that will precede the wipe by a few days. If they don’t arrive soon then we could be looking much later in August for the wipe release.
Usually, Battlestate Games doesn’t campaign Twitch Drops for the summer wipe, instead they save them for the winter wipes, which usually look much bigger than the summer wipe. However, given the controversy surrounding the previous deletion of the Unheard Edition and PvE mode, as well as the recent bug of accidentally deleting player progress and not being able to restore it, this is likely an attempt to bring back players who have sworn off the game.
The new wipe is expected to be somewhat smaller than usual, but it will bring with it the redesigned Factory map, new hideout additions, and possibly a brand new boss that was teased earlier in the week. There should also be plenty of other fun surprises for players, as the developers like to sneak in some unannounced changes with each swipe.
