Crimson Desert
Pearl Abyss
They said it would be big, and it is. Pearl Abyss just released a new patch for Crimson Desert, one that’s not only physically large, 37GB on Steam mostly due to new visual fidelity additions, but also large in scope, like most things I’ve seen added in a single patch since release. And that says something.
The degree to which this is transformative probably depends on where you are in your playthrough and what you prioritize, but there’s plenty here for everyone. You can scroll to the huge thing here if you wantor you can read the highlights I’ve outlined below:
New Content
Difficulty settings – The game now has easy, medium and hard settings, with hard having the most changes. It goes beyond just taking more damage and more enemy health, it adds things like the fact that food won’t give you health until you’ve actually completed a consumption animation, which given how food works in fights right now, where you can spam it as you fly through the air after just getting hit by a knife, this will cause boss fights way more difficult than before. Not sure if some will work with it.
One thing I don’t see here is the “why”. At least in these patch notes, there’s nothing for extra rewards or XP gain or anything from the game on hard mode, as you might just do it for the sake of it.
Homemade chests – Added a number of chests to put in your house (not the camp itself). Sturdy Gatherables gives you 10000 slots to craft or refine materials and you don’t have to take them out to use them. Kuku Cooler stores food. Collectibles store quest items and recipes. The wardrobes offer 100 places for clothes and you can have a total of 1,000 storage spaces out of them.
Layouts of new houses – Compact House, Standard House, Spacious House, Spacious Pailunese House based on the level of your camp, the latter is obviously for when you move your camp back to town.
New pets – Birds can now be missions with their own import mission and food items to give them. There are 5 new pet types for cats. You can also pet Abyss Heuklang now. You can now change the names of horses and pets.
New Weapons – Damiane gets The Sword of Starlight, given through a quest. Kliff and Oonkga have two new one-handed weapons, the Tree Branch and the Sturdy Tree Branch which you get from…chopping trees and bamboo?
New Armor – Kliff has a new Baltheon armor. More clothing has been added to some shops, including the Back Alley Shop. Kuku Flame and Ice armor can now be painted.
Paper – More ores and wells have been added throughout Pywel.
New Seller – Animals are sold there by NPCs for immediate purchase.
New tattoos – 13 of them

Battle changes
Bosses – They are no longer immune when performing powerful attacks. Tweaks to counter attacks or escapes and attack patterns of certain bosses.
Force Palm – Force Palm Pulse now charges at three levels of damage. Force Palm is now faster.
New skills – Kliff can now use weapon throw, which uses the shield bash controls. Weapons return by pressing the button again or approaching the weapons. Damiane and Oongka now have their own Ambush ability, and these moves double as Kliff’s Focused Force Palm.
User interface changes
Inventory – Items can now be viewed via category tabs, documents, equipment, food, materials and more. Things like basic Gears will now stack, along with some other items.
Paper – The map will now display the inventory status of store items for stores that have reached maximum trust. You can now change the pattern and color of the map markers. Map and minimap now show wells. Minimap now has an NSEW compass.

Graphics
The main thing here is that there has been an improvement in performance for distant objects and textures that scale with graphics settings. Hence the reason for how big this patch is. Characters also look better at long distances. Hair lighting is better. There is now a colorblind mode. You can make the subtitle size bigger.
Other
Garbage added to desert areas
