The hinged optical system Xiaomi

The annual mobile trade fair in Barcelona is starting today, but just in front of the Xiaomi event has shown an original camera lens. I am obviously one of the two members of the media to get their hands on the kit.

Named the hinged Xiaomi visual system, this original kit consists of a phone with a magnetic pogo pin allowing a camera lens to break.

The Magnetic Pogo Pin has been called “Laserlink”, and uses Xiaomi’s privately owned technology that allows data to be transmitted up to 10Gbps. This is crucial, because the securing camera lens has impressive material: 100 Megapixel optical lens with a diaphragm between f/1.4 to f/11 and 4/3 -inch sensor. This is twice as high as the 1 -inch type sensors used in the top smartphones.

The larger sensor allows more light intake and natural bokeh. The lens also has a focal length of 35mm, which is a more optimal focal length for photography.

I returned the kit for 25 minutes to a room, so I wasn’t able to push the camera to try too much, but I was able to take some very good photos that look a little more “pro” than a regular phone. The camera lens also has a rotating selector to allow manual focus adjustments or F-stop change. Having a natural table makes the photography experience.

Laserlink’s transfer speeds are almost almost instantaneous. I would like to take a photo and the photo would be ready for preview immediately.

The material appeared mature and ready to be used today – the process of removing and taking off is simple and once the camera’s UI switch to the visual lens is connected. There are no additional steps for a couple, and the lens draws power from the phone itself. But Xiaomi engineers said this is maintained as an original for now because of two reasons.

The first is that the costs are very high right now to produce and sell at a reasonable price and the second is for Pogo Laserlink terminals to endanger the resistance to the phone of the phone. But this second concern seems very easy to correct. In fact, an engineer made teasing that this original could become a reality “soon”.

The UI of Xiaomi camera is adapted to the lens.

The place I am very excited about this system is that it allows other lenses to break. I am a fan of the photography phones and I would imagine that this system could support a 100mm or more phones lens.

I came away from the demo impressed and I am glad to see Xiaomi continues to push the boundaries of visual imaging, because its ultra phones have already firmly ranked one of the best camera phones around the last three years.
