Skywatchers in North America will take a special spectacle on Sunday, September 7, 20205, when the final full moon in the northern hemisphere – the corn moon – rises to the east during dusk. For observers in Australia, Asia, Africa and parts of Europe, the rise of the Full Moon will be followed by its journey into the shadow of the earth in space, with the surface of a shiny reddish-orange for 82 minutes.

Basic events

The full moon of corn appears on Sunday, September 7, 2025, which is fully turned at 2:10 pm. Edt. Then the world’s night side will see a total lunar eclipse, which will be Flow live on youtube.

From North America, the full moon will see east of the east during dusk, hours after the eclipse is completed.

The Times of the Full Moonrise in North America varies with the city, but in New York, the Moon goes up at 7:22 pm Edt, and in Los Angeles, at 7:19 pm PDT. Check its exact time Moonrise where you arewhich will happen shortly after the sunset. A clear east horizon is necessary to watch a moon.

In areas where the total lunar eclipse is visible, the total will take 82 minutes, although the whole eclipse extends in about five hours.

A rising full moon is absolutely safe to watch with the naked eye, as well as all sorts of lunar eclipses. This is in contrast to a solar eclipse, which requires solar eclipse glasses and solar filters in binoculars, telescopes and cameras.

Because some see red and some do not

A lunar eclipse is a global event that happens at the same time everywhere, but it is only visible from the night of the Earth. While North America will be on the day during the eclipse, observers in areas such as the Middle East, Asia and Australia will watch the moon turn red. For the North Americans, the corn moon will look “normal” – an orange tray that rises at dusk.

The next big eclipse for America

The next total lunar eclipse visible throughout North America will arrive on March 2-3, 2026. This will also bring a blood moon that will last almost one hour. From now on, a partial solar eclipse will occur for 18 countries in the southern hemisphere, with New Zealand, the Western South Pacific and Antarctic to see up to 85% eclipse at Sun. September 21-22.
