The Epomaker TH87 is a wireless Tenkeyless gaming keyboard with an extra large rechargeable battery.

As more people switch to using mechanical computer keyboards, the more word gets out about how these types of keyboards are a huge upgrade over the cheap and spongy membrane style keyboards that come with many desktop computers and are used on laptops. The TH87 is Epomaker’s latest mechanical keyboard and offers professional levels of typing performance with a minimalist aesthetic and keyless layout.
This new keyboard is different as it has a large 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery. Many mechanical keyboards have a 4,000 mAh battery at most, so the TH87 is designed to last longer between charges. The design has a flange structure for precision and comfortable typing, whether you’re gaming, coding or writing.
Keyless layout
With its compact keyless layout, the TH87 TKL keyboard has the necessary keys necessary for typing, but still offers a comfortable space that will make it easy to get used to if you normally type in a 100% layout. With a smaller keyboard taking up less desk space, there’s more room to operate a mouse. Described as “functional and stylish”, this 87-key gaming keyboard has a clean and crisp design with keys finished in grey, soft teal and light blush, striking an elegant stance.
The TH87 87-key gaming keyboard has a clean and crisp design with keycaps finished in grey, soft teal and light blush. It is available in ANSI/ISO-DE/ISO-UK/JIS layouts.

Thanks to the huge 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery, the TH87 wireless keyboard can work for up to 45 hours of continuous use with the RGB backlights set to maximum brightness levels. This makes it suitable for all-night gaming sessions. With the backlight off, the TH87 can run for up to 200 hours between charges.
In terms of connectivity, the keyboard can be connected to multiple devices using three different methods. As you’d expect from a wireless keyboard, the TH87 supports Bluetooth and can be paired and switched between three different Bluetooth hosts. This is useful if you are working on more than one device. You might have a gaming PC and a work Mac that you can easily switch between.
The other two connection methods are the plain old USB-C cable or the 2.4GHz wireless dongle that comes with the keyboard. Using 2.4GHz wireless connectivity allows the TH87 to have a wireless reception rate of 1000Hz and a latency of just 5ms, compared to 11ms with Bluetooth. The ultra-fast 2.4GHz wireless offers almost the same performance as using a USB cable to connect.
Epomaker’s TH87 features a two-stage kickstand with 6, 8 and 10.5 degree keying angles.

Creamy sound switches
Epomaker says it has designed the TH87 to deliver “the ultimate typing experience in sound, comfort and feel.” The creamy feel and thick sound of the TH87’s keys are achieved using five layers of sound-optimizing materials that absorb vibrations, suppress hollow noises and eliminate metallic pings. The flange design provides a smoother typing experience, while the Cherry profile PBT keys have an ergonomic feel. The keyboard also features adjustable stands with three typing angles for a more comfortable feel on the wrists.
The TH87 features RGB backlighting behind each key with south-facing LEDs that are fully adjustable for saturation, brightness and effect speed. You can set critical keys to a contrasting color to improve your reaction time when playing games. Alternatively, you can use the dynamic lighting effects to create a more personalized look for your keyboard.
The TH87’s mechanical switches are Epomaker’s silent Sea Salt type and are also hot-swappable. This means they can be replaced with another type of switch if you want a different feel or more key noise.
The minimalist design and compact layout mean that the Epomaker TH87 takes up less space than a 100% keyboard.

It is possible to map complex key sequences to a single macro key, or else map rarely used keys to some more useful shortcuts using Epomaker’s programmable keyboard software. Unfortunately, this software is currently only available for Windows, so keep that in mind.
Finally, this compact keyboard is available in a number of layouts. In addition to the standard ANSI layout used in the US, the TH87 is also available in an ISO layout with UK German and English language keys. By the way, if you’re a UK-based Mac user and want a TH87 with a British layout that includes a £ sign, be aware that the layouts are different for macOS and Windows with the @ sign and quotes interchanged. I’d suggest choosing an ANSI layout and just getting used to using the # key for the £ symbol.
