Took me 1:09 To complete today’s Nyt mini.
As a rule, I generally do not like the confidence of crosswords that require you to fill in a different answer first. But at least it made sense here in terms of the shape of a burger, with cheese and then a bun on the top. Still, in part because I mentally exclude such indications until I go back to them, it took me a while.
I got the burger then I thought Shroud could be “wrapped” but I was out of the sign there. I was happy to find the TPS (or “toilet”), especially because it wasn’t something I grew up in.
Begot and Use up were answers that I ended up getting by default but I understood nerds. The trio of the three -letter answers was not a problem, and they helped me to conclude the bun and the cheese.
